If one of those cosumers whose budget is somewhat pinched this holiday season (join the club, there are a lot of people out there in the same boat), take heart, for there are bargains out there to be had, especially in the world of DVDs. Much as it pains me to say anything nice about Wal-Mart, their $5.00 movie bin is a great source of cheap movies. And the movies in the $5.00 bin aren't just a bunch of loser flicks, third-rate sequels and inferior remakes. If you dig through their bin of cheap DVD movies, you can find classics like Terrence Malick's The Thin Red Line, John Carpenter's silly but fun Big Trouble in Little China, and other cheap DVD movies featuring stars like Samuel Jackson, John Travolta, Sylvester Stallone, John Wayne, Lucille Ball, and other much-beloved stars. Right now, during the holiday season, you can also find cheap DVD movies for $2.98! That's some stocking stuffer. Target, too, is getting in on the cheap DVD movies sweepstakes, with some stores offering cheap DVD movies for as little as $3.98. You can also find some remarkable deals on Amazon.com. I recently found the film To Live and Die in L.A. for around $3.00, plus shipping. Not bad. So there are cheap DVD movies out there if you know where to look.
