dvd movie rentalSome DVD movie rentals are really inspirational. One of the DVD movie rentals my husband and I watched recently was called Gifted Hands. This movie is about Ben Carson, a gifted neurosurgeon who works in Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore, not too far from where I live. Gifted Hands is based on Carson’s autobiography of the same name and it documents his experiences growing up. As a child Carson had poor grades but with the right encouragement from his mother he became top of his class and went on to study at Yale.
Watching this DVD movie rental made me realize that my husband and I are doing the right thing by our grandchildren by making sure they study every night and encouraging them to do well at school. DVD movie rentals such as Gifted Hands serve as a poignant reminder that we can all do anything if we put our mind to it, regardless of background or circumstance. All it really takes is hard work and commitment. This movie certainly made me all the more determined to keep pushing my grandchildren in the right direction as far as school is concerned.
